It's really strange what a cold can do to you.
It makes your head feel really big and heavy, like it's just going to drop off if you don't use your neck muscles to hold it up.
This cold just makes me feel really weird. It's not really something I can explain. It just distorts your entire mood and state of mind in such a way that is totally different and you get a little freaked out by it.
That and the drowsiness of the medication put together... bam!
Anyway, I was thinking of the word 'hybrid' today.
How people can say, 'this thing is a hybrid of this and this'. Makes you kinda wonder, what exactly is originality anyway? I mean, how original does something have to be in order to be considered an original? Aren't almost all things a hybrid of something and something else?
Of course, we're not speaking literally here, like a child is a hybrid of his parents kind of thing.
But more in terms of the arts and stuff. I think that ultimately, unless you can create something that is TOTALLY new, you're considered a hybrid of all the things that inspire you. You are bound to contain certain elements of things in the past. New artists are always going to be compared to the old ones, existing art will be compared to the greats of the past.
It's so hard to come up with something totally original is it?
As long as I'm getting thinner...
