CJ friends Christmas celebration at my house!

Haha I must say I had a wonderful time. It was such great fun seeing them again :) I was SUPPOSED to give them Christmas cards but I did them at the last minute and it was way too ugly so I decided not to.

We had great food, great music, and most importantly, great company. We played Charades then some drinking game that Vig taught us.

Some hilarious convos: (I shall not name who's involved but you can probably guess it. Hahahaha)

"Football clubs."

"Manchester."

"David Beckham."

"Drink!"

-----

"The Beatles!"

"*Names some Beatles song."

"Ladybug."

"Drink!"

----

"The game is more fun when people are high."

"Aiyah she not high also like that already."

-----

Hahaha I shall leave you to guess who.

Ok photos!

I had an awesome time.

We REALLY have to do this again.

Must!

Is Sleeping Good for the Heart?

"For those who are always looking for an excuse to sleep in, or sleep more, your search is not in vain: According to new research, hours spent sleeping protects against calcium deposits in the coronary arteries -- the deposits responsible for heart attacks."

"For each additional hour of sleep, the risk of calcification of the coronary arteries decreased by 33 percent -- an outcome equal to reducing blood pressure by 16 point elevations."

Hahahaha now I have an excuse to sleep till 3!!

LOL.

MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ONE AND ALL!!! :) :) :)

News of the day:

X'mas drowning at Clarke Quay

'TWO divers from the Singapore Civil Defence Force recovered the body of a 32-year-old Singaporean who apparently drowned in the Singapore River at Clarke Quay near Liang Court."

"Mr Tan Beng Sien, had fallen into the river at about 5.30 am and a member of the public called the police."

"Police are treating the case as unnatural death and are investigating said police spokesman Humphrey Sew.

This is the second drowning in the Singapore River in a week."

I guess tragedies happen even on Christmas day. And at Clark Quay too.

Hmmm...

It's Christmas!!! Eve.

Haha ok my relatives are coming over soon and I have to go get ready in a second.

Oh and I just read about the drama on the Singapore Flyer.

News of the day:

http://travel.asiaone.com/Travel/News/Story/A1Story20081224-110060.html

Harrowing rope rescue

"NEWLY-WEDS Eric Ong and Ong Pei Ling had planned a romantic wedding in the sky on the Singapore Flyer yesterday, but their plan was wrecked before they could begin.

A technical glitch about half an hour before the couple and their entourage were to board the Flyer saw it grind to an abrupt halt, with 173 people still on it.

The couple and 26 family members and friends were scheduled to go up at about 5.30pm and ascend to the peak of the 165m-high wheel 15 minutes later where they would exchange their vows.

ONE woman cried while she was being lowered down by a rope from a capsule about eight storeys high. Another kept her eyes tightly shut until her feet touched solid ground before bursting into tears of joy."

The poor couple. It's so ironic that I read that right after I read Luo Er's post on wedding proposals. Looks like she skipped the part about weddings gone wrong! :P

AAAAAAAAAAAH I broke my Ipod casing!! The wire got caught in the handle of the kitchen cabinet and as I turned the ipod dropped from my hands and fell onto the floor! UGH.

DAMN IT.

I have to go buy a new one tomorrow.

ZZZ.

Don't hold your breath: iBreath for iPhones and iPods

"It’s called the iBreath, and it’s an alcohol breathalyzer from David Steele Enterprises. Its website describes the $79 gadget “as the ultimate iPod accessory that lets you take your own alcohol breath test so you can get home safely.”

" Opponents fear that the tool will inspire more drinking games than responsible behavior. Fans claim that even the most innocent of objects can be used incorrectly, and that this tool just may save lives."

I personally believe (Miss South Carolina) that it's quite an innovation.

At least some people will know whether they're sober enough to drive and not kill more people.

ZZZ Damn kitchen cupboard!

Watched the local interpretation of The Nutcracker at the Esplanade.

It was.... ok I guess. I'm no ballet critique but it really was rather synchronized. I felt like sleeping at some points. I can only watch a bunch of people prance around in costumes for so long.

Ok I got lots of events coming up.

Today, I have to help with house cleaning to prepare for 3 Christmas parties next week. I just painted the 'prison grills' (as the westerners would call it) and I've got paint all over my hands even as I type now. I have to clear my room soon because it's in a bad mess.

I have to get my NETS thing done tomorrow as well as attend Colin's dinner party.
I have got to buy last minute stuff on Tuesday.
Wednesday I'm not busy!
Thursday's Christmas! Ironically it's the only day I'm free.
Friday's my mom's cell is coming over.
Saturday's Peter's party.
Sunday the class people are coming.

What a large contrast to my past week and the previous few weeks, where I spent most of my days in front of this computer screen.

Oh well, better get back to painting soon.

SoCal doctor accused of injecting fake Botox

"A dermatologist was arrested Thursday after being indicted on charges that he injected patients at his West Hollywood clinic with fake Botox that could have caused a muscle-paralyzing condition."

" The vials were labeled "for research purposes only," but Hansen injected patients with the substance and told them it was Botox, according the grand jury indictment. "

Hahahaha it seems like you never know what doctors are injecting you with nowadays. They could claim to be giving you some medicine but who knows if it's making you worse. I remember my piano teacher telling me about the fallibility of doctors before she passed on.

Hmmm...

All I want for Christmas is you

I just got Rollercoaster Tycoon 3!

And it's freaking difficult, such that I keep making losses without even knowing why. It's much different from Rollercoaster Tycoon 1.

Ok on to the more interesting stuff!

I've decided to start this "news of the day" thing where I comment on news that I find interesting! Woohoo!

Nintendo's Wii doubles sales, setting Nov. record

"...Nintendo, the world's largest maker of game consoles, sold 2.04 million Wii players last month,'' researcher NPD Group Inc. reported"

" Microsoft Corp. sold 836,000 of its Xbox 360 video-game players last month"

Well it seems that Nintendo has outsold Xbox. (Sorry Vig looks like more people would rather play Rayman Raving Rabbids TV Party with their butt than play whatever it is you play on your Xbox)

I still remember the times when my brother and I would play the playstation like we had no life. Back then on the playstation 2 we would play games like Crash Bandicoot or some other trashy games, when the time could have been properly spent doing meaningful things like... erm.... baking or something.

By the way, this it the "butt video" that is actually very hilarious.

Bush Dodges Shoes Thrown by Iraqi Journalist

"This is a farewell kiss, you dog!"

"All I can report is it is a size 10."

You've probably seen this video on youtube.

Basically some Iraqi maniac tries to attack the president with a shoe.

Ok shoes.

Shoes.

Shoes.

I dunno why the word 'shoes' brings to my mind so many things. Ok first it's the Kelly video.

Then it's the fact that I got nailed by a shoe rack when I was young.

Yea my manic sister shoved an entire shoe rack onto me, causing me to have that Harry Potter scar thingy on my forehead.

Ok kidding. The thing fell on me but it was cos I stupidly climbed up to get...

Shoes.

My shoes.

What a disastrous day. What a tragic day. Sob sob.

Oh and the president wasn't hurt.

I've been so bored lately!

It's like there's really absolutely nothing to do. For the past few days I've been going for the camp night sessions but that's it. Other than that I'm mostly in front of the com, playing RA3 or Dota. Makes me think back on the pre A level days, when I would find any excuse to use the computer. Then, the time spent on the computer was really precious and I would cherish whatever time I had.

Now, I have so much time that using the com doesn't seem like much of a deal.

How easy it is to take things for granted huh? When things are so accessible we don't appreciate it anymore.

It's like we're kids and we've been fighting for a toy from our siblings. When we finally get it, it just doesn't seem fun anymore. After fiddling around with it for 2 minutes we toss it aside and go pick another fight.

Cos it's more fun that way.

Na na na na na we're all gonna get in a fight!!

Heh heh...

People all have different blogging styles.

Let us do a little examination of some blogs which I visit regularly.

Blog #1 - www.geocities.com/stopbitingmystyle

An extract:

5 December 2008, Friday

"...Anyways, I have to GO REST MY LIFE AWAY NOW, like I have been doing the the past fucking week.

Goodbye world.

Out... "

Our blogger is apparently rather vulgar, and is feeling frustration. He takes it out by using capital letters and paragraphing for emphasis on his current state of being. Further examination of his blog has shown a recurrent use of the word "Out" as a way to end his posts.

Research has shown that the popular host of hit television series American Idol, Ryan Seacrest, uses that word recurrently as well.

The blogger's blog address is www.geocities.com/stopbitingmystyle

Let us turn our attention to the phrase 'stopbitingmystyle'.

We chuckle at the irony of this blog address, as our blogger seems to be oblivious to his blatant 'biting of style'.

How amusing indeed.

Blog #2 - http://ditzy-dotty.blogspot.com/

An extract:

"...hahah though i'm not too sure about the quiet part. i've never been drunk/high before so the guys kept plying me with drinks (daddy lets us, actually, he encourages us, to drink when he's around so that we won't, quote unquote, 'get taken advantage off'. thus my alcohol tolerance is pretty good, i think.) so after 6 tequila shots, whiskey and some other random shitz, i'm still standing! "

Let us bring our attention to this phrase:

"so after 6 tequila shots, whiskey and some other random shitz, i'm still standing!"

Obviously, the alcohol took some time to take effect. Our blogger seems to have missed pressing the "Shift" or "Caps Lock" button on her keyboard when she was typing, seen from her clear lack of appropriate capital letters.

Blog #3 - http://cheryl-faith.blogspot.com/

An extract:

"...QUINCY MARKET! They have really really really good clam chowder :D :D :D And many other nice foodstuff (:

Thank You God for such a wonderful holiday (: It wasn't perfect and I wasn't looking for perfect. I wasn't expecting amazing but things exceeded my expectations. Thank You for meeting my needs and my wants. Thank You for providing (: Thank You for creating (:

The next few days are going to be packed! And exciting :D :D :D I'm looking forward. Like how Max Lucado puts it "Give everyday a chance! Wake up to the gift of 24 hours!" Happy holidays all! (:"

Let us look at the post from afar. And count the number of ":D" and ":)" there are.

It is absolutely hilarious how the blogger attempts to... *cough* lighten up her post. Indeed, it is a wonder how one manages to contain his or her laughter after viewing this.

Blog #3 - http://inthenameofdonuts.blogspot.com/

"...I found some of my past videos :)

and I know Cheryl will love em because it's Wang Lee Hom :D I took these videos when he came to visit in 2006. You'll realise that I'm very close to him ! beyond the barricade and just in front of the stage. He was so close and I like it that way :)...

*videos*

JEALOUS ? hahah you should be :)
Thanks so much Raine and Raine's uncle :D ( It's good to know friends who are well connected )"

This blogger attempts to boast of her encounter with a celebrity with large, bold, and coloured fonts in order to arouse feelings of envy and jealousy. It is unknown as to why the above blogger is so fascinated by a celebrity. (Perhaps the close physical proximity of the latter excited her into such a state that she would purchase certain picture books which might have added to this frenzy? Who knows?)

Blog #4 - http://twistedfatcatworld.blogspot.com/

An extract:

"I feel like running around my estate screaming in the most unglamorous way ever, falling to the ground and bashing a big damn hole in it until I reach the center of the earth where perhaps I'll melt away with all the A level worries and anxieties and the shitty fact that I can't stuff history down my bloody too-small throat or even to just do any other subject requires more willpower than ever to move a bloody fucking retarded mountain which is weighed down by a damn blue whale and five hundred billion, two hundred and sixty million, eight hundred and forty thousand seven hundred and eight elephants riding on top of it which are stomping all over my notes and shitting all over Cambridge so the mountain better fucking be in England so the whole Cambridge grounds can be filled with shit because thats what A levels fills your life with and drives you up the wall until you find there's no more wall left and you're just running into that huge mountain of shit once again and I know this sentence is too fucking long but I really don't give a shit now because all I wanna do is scream until my eardrums burst and thats just so fucking adolescent and childish and I'm way over that stage at eight-fucking-teen years old-soon-to-be but just bear with me because I'm not going to survive this fucking situation and I know forty years down the road I'll be reading this post again and laughing at myself."

Need I say more? *sniggers*

Prom Night 2008

Well well... Prom night was just ok I guess. It wasn't really as fun as I thought it would be. Still, the company was good. (although 2 people whom I shall not mention chose not to come and made it less fun hmph)

I met Mel at AMK mrt and we took the train to Orchad and WALKED all the way to Maritus Mandaring. I suggested taking a cab but we were short on funds and hence decided to take the cheaper route. Haha. As expected, we were the earliest there and all the J1s stared at us when we went up to the 6th floor.

I walked into the bathroom to see a drag queen changing. I thought it was just some costume or something for a performance but it turns out it was Andrew from my old class with a bright yellow dress. I was like, ok so maybe this prom won't be THAT boring.

The whole night was mostly taken up with flash photography.

"I take with you already anot?"

"Yeah."

"Never mind take again!"

*Click click*

The programme was.. ok but I guess it's not really a 'prom' without dancing so it's more like Graduation Night (like what the J1s called it). I was just disappointed I didn't win anything for the lucky draw. Now THAT would have made it much more exciting. That is if I won the top 3 prizes, which includes a Nintendo Wii.

We (Vig, Corinne, Max, Yus, Dinesh, Pie, Yi Jiang, Xavier, Derrick, Me) went to a bar at Clark Quay after prom cos we thought it would make the night more interesting at least. It turns out it didn't...

The bar had this weird vomit smell, the waiters were rude, they brough us the wrong bill, and took a lifetime to give us the actual one. It was so bad that I can't even remember the name of bar.

Only the drinks were good.

I was kinda tired so I decided to go back. Gave a lift to Yi Jiang (who left his phone in the cab) and collapsed home to sleep very soundly.

Since then I have been wasting my time away playing rollercoaster tycoon.

I need something to fill my time! I need to do at least something meaningful during this 1 month +++

Oh btw I'm going in on Jan 28th.

So, if anyone knows of any place I can do volunteer work (most preferably a Christian oriented one but others are totally fine) cos I am BORED TO DEATH!

The only thing I'm looking forward to probably is the release of Diablo III. WOOTTSS!

Only I've lost a friend who would probably be as excited as I am. If you're reading this, I do want talk and you can explain whatever it is.

Buuuut, that will probably only be towards the end of next year or even the following year.

Ughhhhhhhhhhh.

Ah well. Since I'm bored I'll probably update more regularly.

Hmmmm...

I'll blog about it when I get the pics from the rest.
