Just watched Madonna's interview on Oprah.

Yeah, It's all about the controversy that was going on when she adopted an orphan from Africa. It seems that people think that she is adopting the child illegally and as a "fashion accessory". She said in the interview that she was incredibly disappointed with the people for discouraging other people from adopting children from Africa.

I for one think that she's doing the right thing. Although she is an extremely blasphemous person, and I don't like her for that, she is doing the right thing. We as people cannot read her mind, so we won't know her true intentions for doing it. I hope that she did it not as a publicity stunt but out of compassion for the child who was badly stricken with pneumonia. I guess people are quick to criticize her immediately for it. At least she still bothers to set up a foundation in Africa and help the people there instead of doing nothing there and criticizing others for doing it. Haha don't get me wrong, I'm not a fan of hers. I only think that she's doing the right thing.

Well other than that, nothing much has really happened and there's really nothing much to blog about.

So, Seeya!

Ok, Today I basically wasted time cutting my hair. I went out to cut it with my cousin and spent 2 hrs on travel time. Wasted. Could have spent that time studying instead. Well at least today has been more productive than other days. I just did a VERY thorough revision of the first chapter of the SS textbook, Singapore's Education system. I plan to do a very detailed revision of all the SS and history chapters in order to be very detailed in my answers. It's like a mantra.

I must get A1 for combined humanities.

I must get A1 for combined humanities.

I must get A1 for combined humanities.

I must get A1 for combined humanities.

I also did the 2001 Bio paper. I actually planned to do the 5 Yr Series after the prelims. Big mistake. I just flipped through the 5 yrs series, and found out that A LOT of the questions in the prelims came out from it. So irritated. Should have done it before the prelims. Would have gotten much better results.

I think I'll change the blog skin after the O's. Kinda bored with this one.

Yup. Having very short posts now. No time to waste.

Went for English in the morning today. Mrs Bala had a session for the bio students to go through the compo with them. She marked my Compo for "Visions" B.I. AURGH. She said that when they put "Visions" as the title, they mean aspirations and stuff.

According to Dictionary.com:

vi·sion (vzhn) Pronunciation Key Audio pronunciation of "visions" [P]
n.
    1. The faculty of sight; eyesight: poor vision.
    2. Something that is or has been seen.
  1. Unusual competence in discernment or perception; intelligent foresight: a leader of vision.
  2. The manner in which one sees or conceives of something.
  3. A mental image produced by the imagination.
  4. The mystical experience of seeing as if with the eyes the supernatural or a supernatural being.
  5. A person or thing of extraordinary beauty.
So, of course, I took the fifth meaning, but somehow she marked me as B.I (Blatantly Irrelevent). Said my launguage was fine, but had too much dialogue. Guess I'll have to work on that.

Well I managed to catch Christina Aguilera's new video "Hurt" on youtube. It's great, except that some people said her acting was really bad. I thought it wasn't really good (her acting) but it wasn't THAT bad. The whole circus theme and the song was enough to cover it. I liked the circus theme. It's nice. Go watch it.

I wonder when i should start planning for the Post O Levels activities. ;)
I think I shouldn't do it now. It'll just distract me from studying. heh.

Oh and I dunno if I mentioned it already, but I'm leading worship for the december camp! Haha. Yeah, but my songs aren't really confirmed yet. Really looking forward to that.

Oh and watch this HILRIOUS parody of Oprah by the funniest woman on earth, Debra Wilson.

Ok it doesn't work so use this link:

I'll just end with some interesting quotes.

All the world's a stage, and all the men and women merely players: they have their exits and their entrances; and one man in his time plays many parts, his acts being seven ages. - William Shakespeare

You can fool all the people some of the time, and some of the people all the time, but you cannot fool all the people all the time. - Abraham Lincoln (Mr Lee used this before. lol)

A lot of people are singing about how screwed up the world is, and I don't think that everybody wants to hear about that all the time. - Mariah Carey

That's all!

AURGH. I have not been studying much lately.

JUST 4 MORE WEEKS

JUST 4 MORE WEEKS

Well at least I did some studying on Saturday. Yixin called me up in the afternoon, asking me if he could come to my hse to study cos he doesn't want to go home to study cos he knows he won't. It turns out he wasn't the only one who forgot that it was a public hol on sat. Martin forgot too and got locked out of the library like how Yixin got locked out of sch. I did quite a lot of A Maths sums. So I didn't feel that guilty on Sat.

Yesterday was excusable (I guess) cos there was a gathering.

Lately, nothing much has happened. It's still the same thing.

Oh my sis finally bought a webcam. Now we can chat with our dear brother (who is in The USA) properly. Hmmm somehow when I plugged in the headphone into the com, everything jammed and my keyboard and mouse stopped malfunctioning. I tried it 3 times and the same thing happened everytime.

AURGH! I disgustingly overslept on Friday. I MISSED THE MOCK COMPREHENSION EXAM!!!!! AAAAAA! I REALLY REALLY hope that they're kind with me and won't take my marks away. I really really overslept. I didn't skip it.

Hmmm I dunno why, but I felt kinda weird posting on the class forum. I dunno why, I just feel like an outsider in the class. Guess that's why I can't really make friends so easily in 4-10. I missed out on one whole year, and all the groups are formed and I can't really find someone to talk to and stuff. Oh well. I must promise myself not to be like that next year. Oh well, school's over already anw.

Well I guess there's nothing else.

To everyone taking their O's this year: KEEP STUDYING! ONLY A MONTH LEFT!

Once again, I have failed to update. Haha well it's because my internet was down since saturday. Disgusting.... Starhub is really unreliable. The silly modem has spoiled countless times. There's always a problem with the internet. Maybe it's because of the 4 computers that are sharing one internet account. Yup. 4. My sister's, my sister's laptop, mine, and my dad's. It can get VERY laggy sometimes. This is going to be a long post. haha.

Anyway, just finished bio prac. It wasn't as bad as i thought it would be. When i reached the lecture theatrette, Yixin told me that they smelled onions as they walked past the labs. So I took out the drawing of the onion and started memorising it. Then, i thought, "Why would they ask us to draw the onion? It's too comlicated, with the layers and all. And, the onion only gives off the strong smell if it's cut." So i thought that they were going to ask us to do food tests on it. Alas, the moment I entered the lab and saw the slices of potato and a few petri dishes, I knew it. OSMOSIS. My most hated topic for practical. You have to measure everything meticulously and even the smallest of changes in length can make your measurments inaccurate. Well, it wasn't that bad, until I heard everyone lighting up their bunsen burners. I was quite scared, because I didn't know why they were lighting them up for. I flipped through the paper and saw a test for reducing sugars, then i thought "so fast? How come everyone is so fast?" and lighted it up anyway. I found out later that everyone was lighting it up to boil the leaf. AURGH. 2 marks gone.

Anyway, the practical went fine, and my answers corresponded to the readings that were expected. The whole practical was rather surreal. I just went in there and completed it. Woohoo. Anyway, I have to get a new entry proof. Mine's all torn up after putting it into my wallet for a few months. One part of it is actually green. Haha well it's not because of mold or anything (That's disgusting. I would have gotten a new one if it was mold) but it's from the green card that was next to it.

I went to see M.Neo after that. Had to re-schedule my "personal lesson" with her becuase i missed the one today due to my practical and can't make it for tomorrow's cos of maths. It was quite coincidental. I poked my head into the staffroom and asked for her and she was just next to the door. Well, she gave A TON of homework (no surprise there) and told me about friday's lesson.

Hmmm I couldn't blog about friday's graduation so I'll do it now. It was quite ok, quite nice. A lot of people (and when I say that I mean a few of my friends) found it unmoving and "bad" according to Colin Moy. I personally found it quite enjoyable. It was nice to see the teachers singing "Greatest Love Of All" by Whitney Houston. It's especially funny when Mr. Denis Leong sang the verse in the same octave as Whitney but sang the chorus an octave lower, so it's kinda anti-climatic, but funny nevertheless. Well, I really liked the video though. Although some were clearly just templates. I thought Mr Jeffrey Goh's one was very funny and original. How he used the various chapters in Biology and applied it to the graduation theme. "Blue tits". Haha. (It's a name of a bird by the way). Oh and Ms Tan decided not to go through the math paper during "Form teacher moment" (A wise decision) and shared with us her reflections on the 1 and a half years spent teaching our class (only about more than half a year teaching me though). It was quite nice to see teachers who arent' afraid to be more sentimental with the class. She told us she wasn't a very good public speaker but I think she gave a rather heartfelt reflection. Personally, thanks Ms. Tan for being such a caring teacher. I'm sure the class appreciates it.

Then, we watched the video of our class. It was done by Hansen(I think) and it was job well done. It's nice to see people who actually bother to put in effort to do a video and I must say it was very commendable. Then, we watched some hilarious videos, mainly of people in our class goofing around to rock and chinese music. It was very very funny, and I could see Jing Cheng looking very embarrassed about it. Hey, you really gave us a laugh. Then, we watched Andre's group's video for the english project that was made last year. I never got to see it, so it was new to me. It was some sort of rape thing. Yeah, Andre getting raped by some guy(whom I couldn't really identify due to dim lights) That was certainly funny too.

Oh and I was horrified when I saw the pictures that Ms Tan gave out along with the report books. I took a look at myself and felt like burning the pictures. Haha. I looked so sad and depressed in all the photos. AURGH why did they have to take the pictures from the newspaper collection???!!!! I was sooo tired and moody that day and really didn't know the rest of the class looked so happy in the photos. I looked so disgusting in all the photos. Wasn't smiling at all. Oh well, doesn't matter. It was worth a laugh at least :)

I'll definitely miss my days in Catholic High, with all the crazy and fun moments that were shared with my friends and classmates. I love the school, who wouldn't? (After spending 10 years in it, you would either hate it to the core or love it)

Well, I must admit that I didn't study like crazy for the practical. I did study, but not as much as I set to. I ended up watching friends instead. One of the most hilarious lines is when Monica defends herself when the rest were laughing at her for dating her 40+ ex-boyfriend's son. Here's a funny bit.

Ross: Hey, you know, Mon, if things works out with you and Richard's son, you'll be able to tell your kids that you slept with their grandfather.
Monica: Fine, judge all you want to, but... Married a lesbian; Left a man at the altar; Fell in love with a gay ice dancer; Threw a girl's wooden leg in the fire; Livin' in a box!

It's actually much funnier when you watch it.

Another tease.

Monica: He's nice, right?
Phoebe: Yeah, but Monica, do you really want to be in a relationship where you can actually use the phrase, "That's not how your dad used to do it."

Haha.

This has been one heck of a post. Haha. So much has happened since the last time I updated. So, hope you've had "fun" reading it.

:)

Wow.... It's been a long time since I've updated. Guess I've been kinda busy with school stuff recently, haven't been able to update.

Basically, this is the last week of school for me. My last week of secondary school. Friday's some kind of graduation thingy, wonder how that will be like. I read from Xuyun's blog that "it will be a tear jerking session." Hmmm wonder what that will be like.

Yeah, It's very sad that I'm leaving the school that i have spent almost 10 years in. I'll definitely miss the wonderful teachers, the school compound, and most of all, the fun times that I've spent in school. However, I guess it's kinda exciting to move on and progress to other things. The sad feeling is still there though. I told myself that I must treasure every single moment that I have left in this school, since it is my last week formally, althoughy I still have to go back to school for extra lessons before the O's.

The big thing that's coming up would be my Biology practical. It's next tuesday. AAAA it's so near....

Anyway, today was such a crazy day. First of all, Happy birthday, Yixin. Yup it's Yixin's birthday today. Martin and Colin went early in the morning before school started (at around 6) and bought a big muffin from 7-11. Haha, yeah we all forgot yesterday until Yixin very modestly messaged me and said how wonderful today was going to be because of the date. I called the rest and they all forgot.... haha... So we had to rush. Colin brought construction paper and string and strung the words "HAPPY BIRTHDAY" together and hung it near the air-con ventilation area near the algae pond, very near the small gate (for those of you who are in the school). Yixin's class overlooks that area and we called him to come out to see it. Haha. Totally insane. SoYixin, Colin, Martin, Yufei, Matthew, Cepheus (sorry if i spelled it wrongly) and I had a small (very small) party for Yixin at the air-con ventilation area, eating the muffins. Yixin got some ferrera roche. haha. I guess as we reach the end of school, we become crazier. After eating, we walked to Yixin's class and hung the "HAPPY BIRTHDAY" banner on the windows. Haha. Then everyone knew his birthday.

Another crazy thing that happened would be Mr Krishnan doing push-ups and Jing Cheng singing chinese songs after school. Lol. Mr Krishnan was being his usual funny and crazy self, and when Nicholas Leong said that he lost respect for him jokingly, Mr Krishnan did push ups to prove himself. Haha. It was so hilarious. Hansen brought a Video camera and filmed it down. A lot of other people brought cameras too. I guess the teachers all don't mind on the last week of school. After school, my classmates started playing some chinese song and Jing Cheng was at the front of the class, holding a broom and pretending to sing along (woot woot!) while everyone else was filming it down. Utterly hilarious I say. Everyone gets crazier towards the end of school.

I heard that my class wants to wear the class jersey for grad night. Sorry if i sound offensive, but I don't want to wear it for grad night! Waaaa. I want to wear my own clothes.... Please abolish that idea.... AAA

Anyway, so far, my life has been all right. Definitely working harder now than ever.

Oh, and I bought Evanescence's "The Open Door"! Woohoo. Yup, It's as good as the first one. So go buy it! Well actually, I felt rather disappointed after listening through it once. It took me some time to get used to the new sound that they had in the absence of Ben Moody. I was quite worried actually, how they would sound, because Ben Moody co-wrote all the songs and he was the main song writer. He was sort of the commercial part of Evanescence. So, I re-listened to the whole CD again and actually liked it more! The sound was different, but it was still good. Yup, so go buy it! My favourite tracks are Sweet Sacrifice, Call Me When You're Sober, Weight Of The World, Lithium, Cloud Nine, Lacrymosa, and Good Enough.

Yup, I think i'll end here, Good Luck to everyone taking the O's and especially those taking Bio Prac next week! :P
